Cookeville Flying Frogs Name Collin Ledbetter Head Coach
Cookeville, TN — The Cookeville Flying Frogs are proud to announce Collin Ledbetter as the organization’s new Head Coach, bringing a dynamic blend of collegiate coaching experience, professional playing success, and a passion for player development to the franchise.
Ledbetter, originally from Phoenix, Arizona, joins the Flying Frogs after a standout playing and coaching career. He currently serves as an assistant coach at Bryan College (NAIA) in Dayton, Tennessee, marking his first season at the collegiate coaching level. As a player, Ledbetter competed at Glendale Community College, Indiana Wesleyan, and Campbellsville University before going on to pitch professionally in the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL), where he earned First-Team All-USPBL honors twice, was named an All-Star, and captured the league’s 2022 Pitcher of the Year award. Following his professional career, he spent three seasons with the Savannah Bananas.
“Representing the Cookeville Flying Frogs means providing a fun, family-friendly environment for both fans and players while competing at a high level,” said Ledbetter.
As the Flying Frogs prepare for their inaugural season, Ledbetter’s vision for success focuses on both competition and development. “Success in year one will be about competing the right way every game, striving toward a championship as a team, and helping each player improve over the course of the season,” he said.
Ledbetter is especially excited about the opportunity to grow within the game and build lasting relationships. “I’m excited to continue developing as a coach, to connect with players from all over the country, and to bring a strong summer baseball team to Cookeville,” he said. “It’s also important to me to give back to the fanbase and community.”
Beyond wins and losses, Ledbetter is committed to establishing a culture rooted in respect, development, and love for the game. “I want this team to represent good, clean baseball played the right way no matter the score,” he said. “Our players will be great teammates, respectful to opponents and umpires, and engaged with our fans. We’re also focused on creating a player-first environment where guys can grow, try new things, and develop without fear of failure.”
Off the field, Ledbetter enjoys golf and basketball, continuing to stay active in sports beyond baseball.
With his unique combination of professional playing experience, coaching knowledge, and passion for building strong team culture, Ledbetter is poised to lead the Cookeville Flying Frogs into an exciting and competitive first season.
The Flying Frogs look forward to the energy and leadership Ledbetter brings as they build a program centered on development, competition, and community engagement.
